Back story: I was owned for 20 years by Nikki, a Seal Point Siamese, who passed away in September 2004; I wanted to wake up to that face again, but decided to get 2 kitties to create a different dynamic within my house...I searched the internet and found a wonderful Arizona cattery, Siam Moon, where I got Calle and Halle, who were 3 months old, in January 2005; they were a Christmas gift from my parents.
I became email friends with Stephanie, the woman who owns the Arizona cattery and in April 2008, she wrote to me about needing to place some kitties and she wanted me to take Suki, a Balinese; I turned her down because 2 kitties in my house was plenty after living with just 1 for 20 years and I had Mommy Cat and Daddy Cat outside as well...Steph said Suki was a special 1 year old who recently had her first litter of kittens but was not a good mother because she was a kitten at heart herself; Suki needed someone who would give her lots of attention and loving...I thought about it for a few days and told Steph if she couldn't find anyone else, I would take Suki; she told me she knew in her heart Suki belonged with me, so I listened "to the universe", let go of my hesitations and I went to Dallas on June 28, 2008 with my parents to pick her up from the airport (it took a few months because she had to nurse her babies)...Within minutes of picking Suki up, she reminded me so much of my Nikki=she was extremely loving and immediately felt like MY baby, she curled up in my lap, purring for the drive home!...On the drive home from the airport, after looking at her registered papers, I realized Suki is a full biological sister to Calle and Halle!...Her name was Suki, but I added the extra K to make her name 5 letters with double consonants like my other girls (even Nikki!...Mommy/Daddy too!)...Sukki follows me everywhere and is the most lovable, social cat I have ever had=she was such a wonderful gift and I can't imagine my home without her!...and somehow, I think my Nik brought her to me.
