Thank you for stopping by to wish my gorgeous, precious Sukki a Happy 16th Birthday!...She is my "heart kitty", a total sweetheart that bonded with me as soon as we laid eyes on each other...She is as joyful and loving as she is beautiful and everyday I feel beyond blessed to have this darling girl in my life.

Happy 2023!!

"I was the purr-fect lady last night ~ after all, I had to keep watch over that

rambunctious kid bro-fur of mine, who had never celebrated New Year's Eve

and had no idea how to behave ... I mean, just look at that boy!"

"Nip, Bubbly, oh, what fun it was! I think I liked this New Year's Eve

thing. Meow! Indeed. I liked it very very much. Only my big

sis-fur was a wee bit of a party-pooper! More nip, purr-please."

Rio grew so much and got really dark in a few short months; he doesn't even look like the same kitty!...He is such a silly, sweet boy who loves to play and enjoys his nip wine bottles a lot!!...He adores Sukki and she feels the same about him!...We are all so blessed to have each other!

Happy 15th Birthday, Darling Sukki!

Happy 1st Birthday, Rio AND Happy Valentine's Day!

Wake up, Rio...it's your 1st birthday!

Rio is a real character who makes me laugh every day...He loves to sleep on his back and he enjoys hiding and jumping out at me and Sukki...Funny fact: Rio really believes if he can't see you, you can't see him, so he only worries about hiding his face/head!!...My playful, silly boy LOVES toy rats, nip and his big sister, so I'm sure he will have a busy day playing with his toys and "his" Sukki.

Rio is a joyful, loving baby, just like his sister.

Merry Christmas Eve...

Since this is Rio's first Christmas, Sukki decided to read him a story to help him understand the holiday...

Rio was fascinated by the Christmas story and couldn't wait to put out cookies for Santa...Knowing Rio has a voracious appetite, my wise and wonderful Sukki kept a close eye on the cookie plate...

And since Rio believes he is always "a very good boy", he was so excited to see what toys Santa might bring; but like all youngsters, Rio grew impatient waiting for the magical visit....

No matter what your age, we hope you all have a fun, captivating Christmas Eve like our darling Rio!

Introducing Rio...

Meet Rio, my new baby and Sukki's little brother...The first photo I published on this blog almost 12 years ago was of my 3 girls, Calle, Halle and Sukki, in a box, so I thought this was the purrfect introduction for Rio as well.

Rio is a sweet, silly boy, about 10 months old; he was rescued from the pound by the Texarkana Animal League and I was so lucky they chose me to be his Mommy!

Rio loves to bring his toy rats to play with in the tub just like Calle used to do.

Rio is growing so fast, I think he will be a big boy soon!

Sukki and Rio love each other.

Sukki was sad as an only kitty and Rio has been a welcome addition to our home and our hearts.

Sukki will be 15 in February and Rio will be 1.

I've never had kitties with such a large age difference before, but these two are a good fit...Rio is all kitten and everything is a game for him, so he has certainly made Sukki more active and I believe she helps him calm down on occasion as well.

They enjoy cuddling together on their heated blanket, their toys (cat dancer and a butterfly that flutters around are their favorites), chasing each other, and of course, nip (Sukki has her pink nip cigar in this photo)!

Thankful Thursday...This Is Not Goodbye

This blog has been such a wonderful part of my life, a true labor of love...It has allowed me to share some of the sweetest souls I have ever known and in that process, I've made some lovely friends who, like myself, value animals as family...For me, Jacqueline's Cat House actually became a photo album of these precious babies that I have been blessed to love and hold in my heart forever...In January 2020, the blog changed after daily posts for 10 years to a once a week post, the result of losing 3 of my babies; now, after Halle's sudden loss, I have decided to stop regular posts and will only post sporadically, on special occasions...I started this blog for 5 very exceptional cats and with only 1 remaining, I'm finding it hard to continue...So, while there will be other posts, I would still like to give thanks at this time...Thank you for every single kind word and comment=they have put many smiles on my face and lifted me on many days...Thank you for caring about these sweethearts I've been so fortunate to call my own...And of course, I want to thank everyone for sharing our lives over the last 11+ years, it has truly been my honor to share these sweet, extraordinary babies with you all.

Adored, cherished, loved and treasured forever...
