... when our cats get that super-concentrated LOOK -- and we humans are like, "WHAT do you SEE??!" ... because we cannot see "it" - whatever it is .. another Feline Mystery -- unsolved. (Part of the fun of cats is that we have to learn to accept the Mystery.)

I do know that the Tuesday before last while I was playing Scrabble with my neighbour one of my feet got on one [fortunately I was wearing shoes and my toenails were sufficiently long for cushion - I imagine you are similarly glad about your claws sometimes] and it hurt for nearly two hours.
And I notice that some of the chair legs are comparatively soft.
My younger self would carry chair bags around at least for the year we weren't trusted to keep things on our desks.

I wondered if anyone had been watching THE HANDMAID'S TALE? A cousin also recommended EVIL GENIUS.
